Purpose

This training document contains information about page types in Sitecore, as well as instructions for finding out what page type a page is in Sitecore. Each page in Sitecore is based on a page type that has certain attributes and can contain specific components. It provides a page with specific information and dictates the presentation of the page.

  1. In the Content Editor, select the page from the content tree.
  2. You can find the page type under the page name to the right of the content tree.

Currently there are no ‘annual report section pages’ live on the YVR website.

The embed page is used for embedding external resources or tools.

Interior page

The icon for the ‘interior page’ is 

The interior page is used to answer questions that visitors might have, and serves the purpose of sharing unstructured information with visitors.

Some pages that use the interior page type include:

  • Airport South Parking

  • Tourism

Interior page minus navigation

The icon for the ‘interior page minus navigation’ is 

The interior page minus navigation serves the same purpose as the interior page but removes the local navigation.

Some pages that use the ‘interior page minus navigation’ page type include:

Interior wide page

The icon for the ‘Interior wide page’ is 

The interior wide page serves the same purpose as the interior page but pulls left on desktop and provides a wider content area. It is to be used sparingly.

The marketing page is to be used as a promotional page for promoting products, deals and business opportunities at YVR.

The news release page is intended to share information about new services, new airlines, awards and other information.

Pathway page

The icon for the Pathway Page is 

The pathway page is used to help visitors make navigation decisions easily and to be an efficient conduit to more information. It allows visitors to navigate to critical information that they’re after.

Use this page when the page you’re creating is a container page for a section, or when there are 2 or more pages below this one.

Some pages that use the ‘pathway page’ type include:

  • Flights
  • Updates
  • Transportation

Search page

The icon for the ‘search page’ is 

Some pages that use the ‘search page’ type include:

As a content author you will not be required to edit this page.

Top level section page

The icon for the ‘top level section page’ is 

The top level section page is intended to welcome visitors with a sense of place and help passengers and meeters/greeters quickly find flight information and explore what YVR has to offer.

Pages that use the top level section page are:

  • YVR Passengers
  • Business
  • About YVR

All top level section pages appear in this part of the navigation if they have ‘show this page in navigation’ checked:
